The Humanitarian Forum held the Libyan consultation in Tunisia due to the deteriorating security situation in Libya at the time. The consultation was hosted by Sheikh Tahir Azzawi Charitable Organisation on 3rd and 4th September 2014, with support from UN OCHA. It was attended by 70 participants representing the local and national humanitarian and civil society organisations across the country.
Key recommendations from the event included the importance of stressing appreciation of International Humanitarian Law and its applicability to all affected communities regardless of their political and ethnic backgrounds.
