Over the next 12 months there will be a series of regional summits and a research study culminating in the WHAF Summit 2021.

Background

Following WHAF 2019, we aim to continue strengthening connectivity and cooperation in the humanitarian sector. COVID-19 has changed global dynamics.

  • Could COVID-19 be the opportunity for needed change in the aid sector?
  • How do we reimagine aid using the “Agenda for Humanity” framework?

Local actors took significant responsibility during the crisis but received little credit or funding.

  • How will leadership and economic trends shape humanitarian financing?
  • What should the humanitarian space look and feel like?

Aim and Approach

Aim: Reshape the aid sector to be fit for purpose

  1. Create a platform for local and international NGOs to exchange strategies
  2. Use consultations to guide research and set priorities
  3. Commission research and produce a policy brief on needed sector changes
